alcoholics and mental sicknesses

My father is an alcohol addict and I am psychotic - is there a coherence ?

I have no idea. What I do know is often mental illness and alcoholism go hand in hand. I think your question would be best directed to a doctor.

People with mental illness often 'self medicate' with alcohol or drugs.
