separation/divorce question - life insurance

RAH and I are working out a new separation agreement before filing for divorce.
(intial one was done as a tremporary agreement and did not cover everything).
There is a point about life Insurance (that requests him to have life insurance). RAH says he will not be able to get Life Insurance because he told his doctor he was alcoholic. however he has been sober over a year. I am worried he will not agree to sign the agreement.
Anyone went through this? I can't imaging he would be refused life insurance as a recovering alcoholic?

Anyone can get life insurance. He may have to pay a little more, but he can get it.

Does he work? Most companies provide term life insurance. If not, he can get a policy on his own, many do not even require a physical.

I'm going to have to ask my divorce lawyer about this today. I am retaining her this afternoon. My husband is not able to get life insurance because he has had lung operations and lung issues and and alcoholic along with lupus and rhuematoid arthritis.

He is on SSDI so maybe he can get one of the policies that don't have physicals.

I have life insurance. Basically enough to pay the mortgage and some left over to pay part of my childrens college.

I never thought of that. I will have to add it to my list.

Thank you

thanks for your replies. He does no get benefits/cannot get insurance through his work. Your replies reassured me that he can get something privately by paying a little more as suki mentionned.
Agreement with final corrections is now in Lawyer's hands. Can't wait for the whole thing to be over and done with.
good luck veryregretful!
