It seems like every thread I start someone recommends I go to Nar-Anon. Thanks for the advice. I finally went and it was pretty good.

I know in my case, with Al-Anon, getting up enough courage to go to that first meeting was extremely difficult.
I couldn't wait to go to the second one.

I was watching the Dr. Drew Show. Nicholas Cage's son's problems with addiction was the topic at the last segment. The young man's mother was being interviewed by Dr. Drew. Dr. Drew kept gently trying to guide the mother to go to Alanon, get a sponsor, and work her own program, possibly get counseling. The mother seemed opened because Dr. Drew was pretty insistent. However, she kept wanting to defend & explain how misunderstood her son was. . . I completely understand because I did those things.

Once we open our hearts and minds to our own healing, many of us can accept and utilize Alanon and Narnon for our own recoveries.
