Need ideas for encouragement

Does anyone have a good poem or word of encouragement I can offer to someone in recovery to express how proud I am of them? Can any
of you share your gestures? Or while in recovery did you receive a gift or words that had a strong impact to help keep ya going?

I always like "Oh, the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss. Yes, it's a kid's book, but it's about hope and being able to make good choices and grow as a person:

My former sponsor gave me a beautiful medallion with a sail boat on it. It says "We can't control the direction of the wind, but we can adjust our sails." It means a lot to me.

My first husband gave me a hand-tooled leather Big Book cover (made by a member of one of his groups) that has my first name and my sobriety date burned in. It was a reminder to me that I don't EVER want to change my sobriety date!

I would send a note saying

Dear X,

I am proud of you.

THAT is special enough!

Send them a nice card with some genuine words of encouragement. And acknowledge the hard work they are doing there. I sent the XRABF a book mark that he loved. Simple things, nothing over the top.
