Observing and learning...

One of the most interesting things I have begun to do in my recovery is watch the interactions of other people...specifically those who have healthy relationship and boundaries. It forces me to think about my own boundaries in relationships, my own interactions, the true give and take that all relationships have. It has made me realize that trully NONE of my relationships have really been 'healthy'...there was always a need by 1 party...either by myself or the other person. When I was contemplating this today I realized that being needed or needing something from a relationship is unhealthy. I realized that what I want at this point in my life more than every before is to be able to stand on my own two feet and know that I can take care of myself and my children. This may seem like a small step, but for me it was quite a moment!! Just wanted to share!
