I think I'm going to confront her this weekend that I know about here drinking problem and do what one member suggested and just give her the address and number of AA.

It's definitely not going to get better if I don't do something but my fear is it's going to get worse.

With my AH (Alcoholic Husband) hiding vodka was his secret too. I found bottles everywhere, under the couch, in side the pool table holes, behind the TV, buried behind the AC unit outside. Its amazing the clever locations they seem to come up with, and it really made me feel so dumb for not realizing the situation earlier. In my case, the situation did get a lot worse especially when it was out in the open.

Good Luck to you 458Cooper. Remember that we are all here for you and that you are not alone. Come back and let us know how it goes.

Been doing some reading. How do I tell if it's abuse or addiction. Or at this point does it even matter?

Abuse is when drug/alcohol use is effecting your everyday activities and relationships. There is usually reckless behavior and the user will continue to use even if it causing strain or stress.

Addiction is categorized when someone builds tolerance for the substance, has psychological issues from the substance, exhibits withdrawal symptoms without the substance, and is unable to stop after repeated attempts.

My information was from this site:
