Seriously, I learn a lot of life's lessons from my dogs, like life's too short not to laugh. Don't sweat the small stuff. Life is good when your belly is full.
Miss Kenna bo-benna has the right idea on how to spend a 102 degree Kansas summer day.

Arrr, what cuties. Now, your doggie post got my attention. I lost my boy 2 years ago and now Im ready for 2 new boys. Im looking but not sure what breed to get.
Need advice, Plenty of room to run around, would catch a mouse or two if needed and loves cuddles. Oh, wants to be an inside, outside doggy.
Someone told me about 2 black labradors for sale, someone mentioned an Snauzer or terriers.
Ive been to the dog pound several times and 90% are bull terrier X which worries me - why are so many people giving them away.

Oh, to be a dog....whether it's my boy, Brownie, Miss Kenna or the other adorable furry children that we all love very much!! What a wonderful thread-it should be entitled "Dog Therapy 101."
(((DeVon))) my cat, Patches, has taken over my driveway...like I have to park in the front yard, rather than get out of the car, pick her up and move her so I can park.
When I call her various names (attic cat, as I fell through the attic trying to get her down..she got herself down, and I looked like I'd been beat up), the driveway cat, when I call her "pretty girl", she does the flop-drop-and-roll and exposes her belly for scratches.
The lone dog, no matter what time I get home (even if it's 3a.m. from work), comes running to greet me, waiting for treats.
I honestly don't know what I'd do without my furbabies. I may be an "old cat lady" but that's just fine with me
Hugs and prayers,
Amy

I've been without a dog for about 40 years, and never had a full time inside dog. I finally gave in to my daughter's pleading and let her get a Miniature Pinscher. I was skeptical at first, but the dog owns me now.
Quite often, he can be found lying in my lap in that same position.

What a lift and a laugh these photos are - yes, dog therapy, pet therapy.
I always enjoy the sig line pics of the 5 dogs of Freedom1990 and Impurrfect's cats.
The pictures on this thread are just hilarious.
Justjo I noticed you are in Australia, I was going to mention a shelter/rescue website called PetFinder that you put in what you are wanting and your location - not sure if that is in your area. There might be breed specific rescue groups in your area also.
Terriers - do research, ask questions, and remember there is a whole realm of characteristics with terriers. Bull terriers are different then a yorkie terrier.
If you feel uncomfortable then don't go through with an adoption. Labradors if younger, have lots of energy and require a lot of walking and room.
There are combinations to get such as a Shnauzer (very dignified dogs) and a terrier mix.
If you go the breeder route do some work also. Check with the breeder and get details of the situation. Make sure it is a reputable breeder. Maybe friends have a suggestion of a good breeder.
You are in for a fun search getting new additions to your home!

Great Thread! What cute dogs
We have a new addition to our family as of July 3rd. Lizzy our new dog. My 10yo son is ready to die of happiness that we finally have a dog. We've been saving/planning/searching for about a year!!! She is a lab/border collie mix. Super lovable girl. I don't have a picture yet soon.
