Help Moms Home vs Treatment/Sober House Straight from Jail
LOL...
Some of you may have laughed saying...been there done that....but it was a big mess....
I have a family member a mom who I am too close to the situation for my clinical opinion to matter so I am reaching out for help from you all.. with hopes that I may include anony) what you experienced so I can get my point across this is a HUGE MISTAKE!!!
DETAILS:
THEY WERE SPLIT EARLY ON IN LIFE DUE TO HIS DAD.
THE GUY IS UNHEALTHILY ATTRACTED TO HIS DAD SEEKING APPROVAL.
THE MOM IS HUNGRY FOR HIM TO BE SOBER , WELL AND SAFE.
SHE ISNT WANTING TO LET GO.
THOUGHTS OF HIM DOING 6 YEA 6 WEEKS THEN STRAIGHT TO HER HOME UNDER RULES, PHONE LOGS, NO INTERNET, NO CALLS TO OLD PLAYMATES ETC
SHE IS BASICALLY BEING A SLAVE TO HIS POSSIBLE RELAPSE THAT HAS YET TO COME.
IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS....PLEASE SHARE..

A clinician cannot tell a person what to do. People are adults and make choices about their lives. All you can do is point out the pros and cons. They will do what they are going to do. At the least you've given them information that may grow into a bigger world of understanding but Clinicians save no one from themselves or their mistakes.

Or Mom is the jailer?
I suggest the basics:
Everyone works their own recovery.
Alanon for the friends and family members
AA for the addict
