I have found going to speaker meetings incredibly helpful in my recovery.

For those who don't know, a speaker meeting is when an Alanon member shares their story. How it was, what happened, and how it is now, in about an hour. So much to relate to, some of them make you laugh, some of them make you cry, but there is so much to learn.

There is a website that I found, thanks to the AA forum on here, someone posted a link to the AA speakers' recordings. Well, there are Alanon speaker recordings on there as well! I feel like I found a gold mine, so I wanted to share it with everyone.

http://www.xa-speakers.org/ This is the main page. Under the graphic, click on the 'speakers' tab. Then just go to town.

Also, there must be hundreds of AA speakers as well, in case you aren't comfortable going to open AA meetings. There is a lot to learn from the recovering A's as well.

I've listened to a ton of both AA and Alanon speakers at that website. With my current health issues I've missed a lot of meetings, and the speakers help a lot!
