Really freedom? what is it? wow! have you had regrets about them?

As it is... I woke up with a pink eye... need to go to the hospital... nothing major but need to have my eye checked..

If my mom can't or won't go with me.. I will conveniently sneak to the tattoo shop ... talk to the artist and see how much it would be...

No regrets. My backpiece has a lot of meaning for me. It's based on a piece by Boris Vallejo of a vampire embracing a nude woman with a serpent at her feet. It represents the seduction of addiction to me.

I also have a cow skull on right shoulder with two feathers on one horn, one for each daughter.

I have a Chinese dragon on my left hip/leg.

All done by the same artist, and didn't get my first tattoo until I was 36!

Freedom !! ughh that sounds painful!

I had one in my eyebrow and would like to have it done again, I LOVED it...

OMG I am so excited!!!!!! the shop asked me to email the design..
I am going to design it myself!!

I am between:
my favorite Tao verse

and
a tribal phoenix with the thai sign of freedom

Ai! Think about where you put it!!! I was 19 years old and I got a really silly goofy thing on my right bicep. It's summer now and I have to constantly wear short sleeves that can cover it and it is getting HOT! Luckily, I left my AH this year, so I'll have some extra money to laser some of it off. Don't know if I'll replace though I am tempted to.

Is laser removal REALLY that painful?

I don't know, but my sister had one redesigned into something else...it was done very well...couldn't even see the original tattoo under the new one. And it cost much less than laser removal.

TC - go with what you feel you can live with for the rest of your life. One you can like at age 40, 50, 70, 90, etc. ; )

Yes I am thinking my back is ok because I am an IT geek and it will never be required for me to show my bare back in my line of work lol...not planning to become a swimsuit model anytime soon

I would love one in the arm but for this reason (need to wear short sleeves when its hot) I wont have it done there

Now I want a black one with some details in red .. I am sketching it currently...

I am afraid about the pain though!!

But I have thought about this for years and love the idea and am very happy I wont need henna anymore !!

I already got an alibi...! yay!!

Thanks Tuffgirl I'll see if I can get some pictures uploaded !!

I sent my ideas to the artist!! went for a phoenix but I love it because it kinda looks like a dragon too.. !! not sure if I'd like gray shades or plain black. Maybe plain black is better, with some small details in red. And 4 chinese characters for my favorite Tao verse part "wear out and be new".

I sent all my requests and ideas, hopefully they help...

Ohh and the artist is well known worldwide!!!!!!! his shop is THE shop in Thailand... inf act when I met him he was kind of serious, almost rude..but he asked me to come back in an hour as he was just opening and when I came back he was slightly kinder...the good news is that his team is friendlier and one of them is a woman who smiled to me and wished me good luck....

So I get it, when its more like the artist is interviewing YOU and not the way around... seems he liked me better once he realized I was serious and not losing his time.

So excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG... I got it!!!! and its much bigger than I had originally planned but I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! thanks for all your support/advice!!!!!!!! and it hurt like... 2 out of 10... I even slept for some minutes lol

I felt I was dreaming but am so glad I went for it.

I had some brief moments of self doubt afterwards but they are gone, I noticed those were about "what will x or y will think"... and it was easy to remember those people don't have to know anyway YAY!!!!!!!! now I am just excited!!!

And meanwhile I met a great Norwegian guy (half Vietnamese..) made a new friend. We chatted and laughed for 3 hours... huge help!

I had a moment of panic where I couldn't find some bills and I even asked him to lend me the money... he did.. but later I found it and gave it back. I could have kept it but my conscience doesn't let me do such thing!

My family hasn't noticed, everything played up beautifully !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations.
A&D ointment for the first day. After that a non-scented Lubriderm type lotion is just fine. Let it get some air. Keep it out of the sun. No Hot tubs. No swimming. The biggest thing is to wash off any dried blood, if you had any. I wouldn't take any aspirin or whatever. Thins the blood. Wear an older shirt at night. It be stuck by morning. Jump in the shower with shirt on and let it release itself.

I wouldn't even, nor do I wrap mine after a session. Swelling will go down in a day. Don't worry about the flight back if that's still a concern.

Start thinking about your next one!

Mine is quite simple but now I get why these Thais have good fame after seeing their art today!!

There is also a traditional bamboo technique.... but it takes longer...

Hum, the head looks more like a dragon than a phoenix, MAYBE I have the head changed a little to fit a phoenix better ... what do you think...? I kind of like the creature as it is though.

Got it for 10k baht (330 USD)

Thanks for your advice Shell! I bought a cream they recommended to use once a day starting tomorrow.. creates a very thin film... let me look up the name... Bepanthen... not sure if its the same name in US...

No blood ! and it doesnt hurt as much so my family can hug me and I dont yell, which was my main worry LOL

Will try to air it tomorrow as much as possible.. I can offer to go to the supermarket or something and change tshirts..

Now my next step, empty all evidence about tattoos in this laptop!!

Question though.... is it ok if I do exercise and sweat... ? or shall I stay away from "aerobics in the park with approximately 150 Thais and foreigners of all sizes, ages and shapes" ... which was my plan for tomorrow.. ?
