I miss Erma Bombeck.
I spent many summer vacations
reading her books. I miss her perspective.
Just waxing nostalgic for a minute.
I'm on my first summer vacation in thirty years,
and am only now realizing she's not here
to share her life with me.
Thank You and Sweet Dreams, Erma.

I remember they didn't carry Erma's stories
in the Marietta paper.
I had to get the Atlanta paper
to get her articles.
I remember waiting and waiting
for one of her books to come out.
And watching her on Good Morning America.
How's that for a blast from the past?

(((Barb))) - Erma was really a special lady. She could make you laugh at stuff that was driving you crazy, always had such a great outlook on everything. Thanks for a blast from the past
Love, hugs, and prayers,
Amy

She was a 'stay at home mom'
something I never had -
and she was funny -
also something I didn't have
and she knew how to do it.
Something I never would.
Her humor was her own
her perspective was as well.
And her 'wise' pieces
were the best!
"If Life Is A Bowl Of Cherries, Why Am I Always In The Pits?"

I loved her and still do! I try to buy her books secondhand whenever I see them. My favorite quote of hers is, "Trying to clean your house when there are still kids in it is like trying to shovel the walk before it stops snowing."
