Update!
I have no internet at the new place, so I am at work and will make it short.
I moved to my new house on Thursday and was unpacked by Friday. The first time that I have lived on my own in my entire life (45yrs) and I am loving it, so far. Its just me, as my DD's (20,23) have already left home.
I managed to keep (gain custody of!) most of what I wanted to furniture wise and only had to buy a few small household items. I have almost every womans dream - a walk-in wardrobe all to myself!
I am still feeling sad that a 23yr marriage couldnt compete with alcohol but happy leaving, knowing that I will never be his No1. priority and I deserve better. I am still having some stress symptoms but I am hoping that this will calm down in time.
Be back soon!

..congratulations on the move, Eight!!!
in my experience, there is nothing like being in your own space, without interference, for calming stress down. I believe with all my heart that you will feel more relaxed than you have felt in 23 years, very, very soon.

:woohoo
Congratulations!
Hey, don't forget thrift store shopping! I found odd stuff to complement what people gave me when I moved out at Salvation Army -- including a whole set of dishes!

Yes...
And you wont' have to wonder on your way home what you'll be walking into when you get there. You'll be walking into your own peaceful, serene, quiet, happy place! I'm really so happy for you!!

I like having my own bathroom again. That's my favorite part of moving out.
That, and painting the walls colors I like, not colors we have to agree on. My house feels very feminine again. That makes me happy!

Congrats on your new home. Just think, you can decorate the way you want, you can be neat as a pin or a slob to rival Oscar Madison and no one will be there to say a thing. You Welcome to your life!

Congrats on moving into your new home on your own. I'm like you this is the first time I have lived on my own with my 14 yr old son. I was married 23 yrd divorced he cheated. Then lived with ex b.f. who is a alcoholic.. I love my new found freedom and most of all peace and serenity, because living with him was Drama not every day but when there was drama it was bad. He has begged me to come home and my response come home to what???? I love him but I have to stay away from him to keep my sanity. You will love your new place with each passing day.
