Opening up with the neighbors
It's amazing when you start opening up to people how you find that EVERYBODY has an A in their family! If it isn't a spouse or an ex, it's a parent or an uncle or a niece.
And it's also amazing when you get out from that place of hiding everything inside the family the amount of help you find. How willing people are to help you out.
There is lots of good in the world. A lot more than you think when you're living in the alcoholic fear factory.

I have had the exact same experience recently! Telling people what is going on does feel good and I am very surprised just how supportive and helpful people can be also. I am looking forward to the next phase of my life (I am divorcing too) and being able to invite friends over again! Good for you!
