Feeling better about myself and detachment from her

Well its been a little over two months since I last saw her, stareing out the window when the police was arresting me for assault. I did not do anything she was drunk and called the police. I was a mess when I first came here but after a lot of chatting and posting ,I am feeling better about myself. No more drama or worring where she is or if she is drinking. She is in jail right now for her 4th dui and I know she has hit rock botttom. Knowing where she is and knowing she is not drinking helps me to understand why she did the things she did. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS CHATTED WITH ME AND RESPONDED TO MY POSTS!

hi again. nice to see you back and glad you are feeling better.

don't be surprised if that is not her rock bottom.

mine had 3 duis. not his rock bottom all he did was stop drinking and driving. but still kept drinking. still drinking now, actually.

yeah, here's hoping... but just a fact from me (recovering alcoholic)... i had 2 drinking related charges and they fueled me to joke around and drink more with a "oh well i already screwed up why not just keep going" mentality... it was a good 3-4 years after them charges until I sobered up. so like naive said, be hopeful and happy if this is the turning point, but also remain strong-headed.

Feeling good about yourself is an excellent step in recovery.
When I can acknowledge my own emotions, i know I'm starting to get myself back under control.
Keep up the good work.
