there is a duck

And she is quacking in my living room. Right now.

Fortunately for me, I am 1800 miles away in Pittsburgh!

Must be the air... Because I had a big fat duck in my living room tonight too.

Good god.

One of these things is not like the others...

I am extremely grateful that I am no longer involved in the drama of his Quacking.
I will confess, though, now I see quacking everywhere.

I was looking up quotes from 2001: A Space Odyssey yesterday, when I found these two gems.

HAL: I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you.

HAL: Look Dave, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over.

I remember watching this movie back in college. (I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it and wants to, so I'll try to be a bit vague.) I remember hearing those statements, and cracking up, because they're so ludicrous taken in context with the rest of the movie.

Sitting here now, reading them again yesterday, it hit me that I put up with that same exact thing for three and a half years, and it's just as ludicrous in this situation as it is in the movie. But I decided to believe them this time.
Just something to think about.

I'll believe them no more! No more ducks in my life, and especially not in my home. They rip everything apart and leave messes behind.

I just watched it a month ago. Quacking is so part of the human element, that Hal was programed to Quack! who'd a thunk it?

I rather think this could be the coffee mug for us all. Does it for me.

As we move on and away from the A's in our lives, we realize how much we were addicted to "quack."

Like others here. I'm kicking my "quack" addiction slowly but surely.:bigok:

PS-love StarCat's picture and as for that mug from Jadmack25: I want one!!

StarCat 05-16-2011 07:05 AM

Jadmack, I need one of those mugs, now!

I am in Pittsburgh.....that's no quack!

BobbyJ 05-16-2011 07:56 AM

My duck flew 2000 miles East of me...

Still quacking....

I thought he would be tired by now, but he is still quacking...

I have visions of the Energizer Bunny now, instead of a duck...

Tonight I'm in New Jersey. And there was some quaking on the drive too!

I muted my bluetooth ear piece, turned on some tunes and let her go. She quacked for 20 solid minutes. I have no idea what she said. But I can tell you she got mad and hung up the minute I started talking. Winning.

My duck isn't quacking since quacking a lot at our marriage counseling session last week. That's when he said I didn't have enough sex with him so he drinks due to me! Sure way to give our marriage a chance, Duckie. I'm so glad that we are living separately in the same house because I hear a lot less quacking that way. If he continues to quack in MC sessions, they'll be over soon. I could sure get used to having less drama and quacking in my life. Thanks for coffee mug and the lesson in what is different:lmao

I find my duck quacks less when I stop feeding it.

And in case you're wondering what ducks eat... love, sanity, logic, and money.

I'm tellin' ya, its the full moon that is doing all of this - bringing out the crazies....

WayTooLong 05-17-2011 05:30 AM

Well, if you ever come back through Pittsburgh, let me know. I will buy you a cup of coffee

wanttobehealthy 05-17-2011 06:27 AM

I didn't even see this thread last night when I posted my own quacking story... The weather is miserable around here, and I was wondering how much of that had to do with the sudden quacking turn AH took... Someone else mentioned the moon...

I'm exhausted just thinking about how stupid I was to stand and listen to it for even a split second...
