Rolling in the deep.....

Do you have a hard time with music and lyrics......... Adele's song " rolling in the deep" wow talk about empty promises, and what could of beens.... this song brings me to my knees emotionally. It almost cripples me. I feel like it was written with me in mind.

And then there are days when I feel like "I am not afraid" by Eminem was written for me!

Yes, I am a lyrics listener too.

It's like the author of the lyrics got inside my head/heart, right?

In a small way, it is comforting to realize that I am not alone when I recognize myself in the lyrics. Others have experienced the same hurts and joys in their lives.

Keep on keepin on

Oh yes. All of the music I listen to is very personal to me, listening/relating to lyrics are usually a must! It's incredible when you are listening to a song and feeling like it was written about you.

Absolutely!
Sometimes I have to immediately turn the radio off.
Other times I break down uncontrollably.
And of course, sometimes I have to turn the radio up louder, and maybe even sing along.

They talk to me, now.
Before, they were just songs.
Now, I get it. It means something to me.

Definitely. Music is one of my main obsession, and the lyrics are what usually draw me into a song. Sometimes I feel like my mind twists almost every song into somehow being related to what I'm currently going through. Sometimes that's a good thing, but sometimes it makes it almost impossible to listen to any music at all.

"Back to Black" by Amy Winehouse does that to me. And yeah, when I want to be uplifted, I listen to Eminem. And when I'm feeling angry, I listen to Linkin Park (I tried so hard, and got so far..but in the end, it doesn't even matter..)

I used to, but to be honest, AH and his habit of playing certain songs really loud, on repeat, and yelling about me after every line that "spoke" to him, rather turned me against "feeling" the lyrics of songs.
