It still kicks me in the gut

My husband has always been a beer drinker. Don't get me wrong, he enjoyed other alcohol as well but beer was his first choice. When I moved back into the house I started finding vodka bottles hidden in corners in the basement. This morning, 7 months since he left I found 2 new bottles. Why is it always such a surprise? Its what alcoholics do. But I never thought my husband would do it. He was different. Obviously not. Add this to the list of triggers.

I understand...After 5 months, this week I found 2 more empty vodka brown paper sacks tucked away in the gun safe, 13 under the seat of his truck..
Empty bottles or bags...Its a evil trigger..

It is so crazy all the hiding places that they find and of course, everytime he would say "Those empties have been there for years".

WOW! Just when I think I can't be shocked- I am... My AH has said this too and I thought it was just him. I really did.

Jamaica- It's a shock to me too and feels like a punch to the gut when I stumble across surprise hidden bottles/cans that I am not looking for that turn up in bizarre places... Definitely a trigger...

Check the tanks on your toilets, they are a great hiding place.

Love and hugs,

I find the brown bags. I hate those bags. They should be an innocent symbol....maybe a school lunch for a child. But for me they evoke feelings of ANGER! A good friend helped me clean out my garage a couple of weeks ago. Keep in mind, my XAH never really lived in this place, visited the kids a lot and crashed on the couch for about 2 weeks (2 weeks of hell). We found tons of brown paper bags and filled an extire recycle bin with empties.....beer cans, vodka bottles, etc.
Yuck. It felt like an exorcism!
