Oh, I just had to respond; your post made me happy.

I remember days when I wasn't even in touch with "I want that". I had my compulsions, and my sick ways of dealing with stuff, like many of us do I'm sure, and I couldn't even see the forest for the trees with regard to becoming more stable and more highly functional.

To be able to look at that path you've traveled, and see that you really have made progress, is truly gratifying.

One of the reasons I feel we have a good relationship, is this man's strong sense of self, his ability to get his needs met in healthy ways, AND his relative detachment from me....although my post showed otherwise. It's that head vs. heart thing.
Now...if I can catch up and do more of that detaching myself....aahhh.
