Friends and Family of Alcoholics on sr=Al anon or no?

is this forum promoting al-anon, i see 12 steps here - why is al-anon not mentioned

I think this forum is promoting recovery, in whatever form it takes. The same way the other board is called "Alcoholism," not "AA." Many people find recovery through Alanon and AA, but many also find recovery through other means or by taking other paths.
I'd like to think that all of it is welcome here. Whatever works, you know?

Yeah, there are varying degrees of al-anon commitment as well. Some are very committed to it, some are just trying it out, some haven't found the right group (took me a while), and some find meetings and the support helpful but aren't doing the 'steps' in full yet (like me!).
Others are fine with the support SR provides and don't need much more.
It varies.
