Grrrrrrr

The sight that greeted me when picking up DS was a very clear reminder that nothing changes. XAH's GF was outside alone chopping ice in the driveway, completely PO'd. What, you might ask was the kind, honest, helpful, chivalrous XAH doing? Nothing. Nor was he taking care of DS.

DS was home sick Thursday and Friday, but he was up and running around by Friday afternoon, info was relayed. We pick up DS today, his face was covered in snot, he had a temperature of 102.7 (taken when we got home, not there) and he was stumbling around in obvious distress, was coughing so much he almost threw up several times.

We get home, he gets a glass of C monster juice and I ask when the last time he'd had medicine. His answer was "When you gave it to me on Friday." So he got some cold medicine and I asked him how long he'd been feeling sick again. Since last night.

So he was there overnight feeling sick and they didn't do anything to make him feel better.

WTF!?!

Just needed to vent.

I had the same thing happen when my daughter was younger. I got to where when she was sick, I'd tell him that I was keeping her home because she was sick. If he had a problem with that, well, tough titties. My child comes first.

Document, document, document!! ....and I second what Suki said. Clearly they are not equipped to care for a sick child.

I would be verrry angry, as well.

At least you can laugh knowing that you are not in the GF shoes anymore.
Poor kid.
MIne would often just take hours to get his dinner.
I would come home and kid would be climbing the walls hiungry.

pfft

He's a douche. Third what Suki says, primarily because she used the phrase, "tough titties."
How's your guy now? Did you get the fever and cough down?

Thanks, all. The fever went down a little with Tylenol, and the coughing settled enough that he's not on the verge of vomiting with each cough. But the poor kiddo didn't eat much dinner and went to sleep almost immediately after eating.

He also asked for the warmest pj's and was wearing his down vest around the house. And now he's whimpering in his sleep. No school tomorrow for him apparently.

Yep. I'm still documenting.

Sorry to hear about your little guy.
I hate it when mine is sick. He has the sniffles and a cough right now too.

I want to give you a high five for keeping your cool. In a similar situation I hope I could remain that calm.

Just wanted to mention to you that after my DD being ill for over a week with high fever that just wouldn't go away: you can alternate acetaminophen with ibuprophen every 2 hours until you break the fever (this coming from my cousins who are all pharmacists with young children).
