First time seeing XABF out in public...

After all the things I did for him, all the drunken nights that I put him to bed, financially supported him, all the kind words and gestures, emotional support, love, encouragement that I gave to him while getting nothing in return.....we run into each other in a sushi restaurant and he passes right by me and doesnt even look. He acts like he doesnt know me. I'm not surprised. But I would just like to say WOW. I guess that's the nature of the beast with Alcoholics but can I please just say WHAT A FREAKING ROBOT!!!!

Not sad but just blown away right now...

How did you expect him to react? How did you want him to act? And, since he's an X - why?

It's a blessing in disguise. This way you get to maintain no contact! I'm scared of meeting XAH in public. I have no idea how he'd react - nor how I would handle it. Sounds like you handled this pretty well!

I agree--blessing in disguise.

Look, if he'd stopped to chit-chat, you'd be analyzing his life right now. Why this, why that.

I used to read on a forum that my ex posted on (a hobby forum that also gets real social) to follow what he was up to. It only aggravated me, so I quit doing it. It was only another way of holding onto the past, including all the pain and drama.

I wasn't expecting a full blown conversation. It is better that he didnt even look my way. I think he actually broke his neck trying to look in the other direction that I was standing. Its funny because I should be the one running and hiding when I see him, but he is the one doing it to me like I'm some disease. At least I can smile now that I know the truth about him and I'm not always wondering why he is so mean, manipulative, or drunk all the time.

As it has been said, blessings come in many guises. Yeah it is a wtf moment, but imagine if he'd stopped to quack (ooops sorry chat).. that would probably be harder right now.

View it for what it is, another reminder of why you left.

Isn't it always better to just ignore an X anyway? Actually that does sound a little ridiculous, but honestly sometimes it is.
