Thanks to your thread I started painting yesterday. That is my passion.

Thanks for the inspiration and I love it when others are discouraging and you do it anyway. I also love it when something happens against the odds.

It made me remember when I was in Finland for a few months and I saw the Aurora borealis one night, I think they were the happiest 40 minutes of my life, so special. I recall some Finns had never seen it, how could I ever imagine I could glimpse it let alone enjoy it for more than half an hour??? yet it happened.

I recall I went to a bar to tell everyone and most people didn't believe me.. they say it was "too warm" and that they are seen in Lapland not the south... right.

Looking forward to seeing more of your pics and I love the smirk!!

Nice work LTD.
It makes me feel better knowing that someone is growing and doing something they love. Gives me a token of hope that I'm currently low on.

L2L - thanks for the link. I loved perusing those bird photos, too. This guy's work inspires me. Robert OToole Photography - Nature Photography (Yes, he's from Alaska!)
Those were beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

I took the bull by the horns and at the ripe old age of 53, am pursuing my Accounting designation through Open University. SO far, I'm scoring 90+ in all of my assignments. I'm proud of myself for doing this and being able to attain those marks, considering I failed math in high school.

To all here at SR who are following their passions and doing things they love-pats on the back to all of us for doing what makes us happy.

Gorgeous photo, LTD. My first husband is an AVID wildlife photographer. His camera equipment is good, and expensive, but hardly top-of-the-line. He goes on camping trips and hikes with his friends. It is his one real passion, and since he retired last year, he gets to spend more time with it. He has taken some amazing photos and takes great joy in it.

So who cares if you never have a coffee-table book out? They always wind up on the remainder shelves at B&N! My ex has made some lovely gifts for friends, he has made calendars, he even had one of his nature photos featured in last year's Grapevine Calendar!

Enjoy!!!

I Love your picture and share your joy of hobby photography.

I began this hobby as a way to make myself get outdoors and out of myself. It was something I could do by myself, if I wanted, or with any friend who might like to come along for the ride. I found nature, nature found me and we have shared a beautiful relationship ever since.

Photography has been a big part of my recovery. I still have my Cannon Powershot SX120 digital camera but it travels everywhere with me and is a grab, point and shoot kinda camera. with excellent zoom, which works well for me...nature rarely poses long and my best shots are "lucky shots" of just being there at the right time.

I am so glad you have found this too, it's a wonderful way to express yourself artistically while enjoying the beauty of nature.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

Hugs
