sober time calculation question stupid one but help?

hi, i know this sounds stupid but i know there are 30 day medallions but what if its been 4 months on a certain date than is it 30 days later or is it the exact date 1 month later that is the persons '5 months'

to explain better my friends 4 month was on the 15th of january is his 5 months the february 15th? i feel like a goof asking this and i would assume yes but just want to be sure im not a day late. thanks

I think the 30 day med is for the first 30 days. If a person has a slip but stays in recovery - they get an additional 30 days once that time comes. For long periods of time - there are 90 day med and 1 year med as far as I know.

Your friends 5 months would be today. 30 days beginning on Jan 16 plus 30 days.

5 months on Valentines Day!

well i am so glad i asked! i would have felt awful, still feel bad cos i wished him happy valentines this morning before work but not his 5 months.. oh well all is good still the same day.

Some meetings give out 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, 9 months, and then yearly chips.

After the 90 days, (so his 90 days was actually Dec 14th because Oct. has 31 days) it usually just goes by month. So if he got sober on September 15th, then February 15th will be his 5 months, March 15th his 6 months, etc

Those days are so important the first 90 or so, but usually if one is totally immersed in recovery, one becomes to busy to count the days and the month 'mile markers' become more important.

J M H O based on my continuous recovery for so many years.
