Need advice on detaching safely

Thanks so much for the wonderful advice and support. I called the DV hotline about the situation and they strongly encouraged me to trust my instincts and helped with a safety plan. Morning Glory's point about my user name was really good and smart. Because this is a user name he knows I am going to refrain from sharing my safety plan here. I am very glad I found this forum.

yes, dangerous situation. believe me, i know from experience.
why not have your dad stay with you? or you all stay with him.
drunks are volatile and it only takes 2 minutes for things to change.
your safety and the safety of your children is the most important thing. if you are temporarily inconvenienced, it doesn't matter.
