Thank you I have been lurking on this board for two weeks now. I finally joined today, because several threads resonated with me in such a way that I feel the need to say thank you to the posters who share their intimate thoughts and experiences. Its a comfort to read your posts when an Al-Anon meeting isn't as readily available (plus I haven't passed the 'sitting in meetings balling my eyes out' stage yet), and there have been days that reading your posts has been the ONLY way to stop my own "stinkin thinkin". I miss being a "normie". That post was a wake up call as to how much my life has changed in just a few short months. Bittersweet. I hear many of you in similar situations; learning how to live with an alcoholic (or learning how to live without one!). It's nice to know I am not alone in my journey through alcoholism and its effect on the loved ones left in the wake of the tornado that has been my amazing husband. I miss THAT guy, too. So thanks. Your words here have made a difference in my life. Tuffgirl (only on the outside) |
Welcome tuff, Glad you found us and posted. You found out you are not alone as everyone else here learned. What you are going through may be the hardest part of your life and you can make it easier by reading, learning as much as you can and posting. |
Hang in there! This is a wonderful place to learn and to be supported~ |
