FarawayFromCars: an Update

Hello Everyone,

An update on my situtation that I'd like to share. My sister has been in a recovery program since September, and so far, so good. She is learning to live a sober life. She can stay in this program for up to two years. I hope it will stick this time. But I'm also working with my therapist and know...that it's not up to me to make sure she does it. All I can do is love her for who she is and accept her for who she is, and I've come a long way with that. We are starting to rebuild our relationship. Baby steps, but steps nonetheless. My mom and I are also rebuilding our relationship. We've come to some understandings regarding my sister and her alcoholism. And I think I'm much better at sticking up for myself and my feelings now, too. Again, baby steps...but things are getting better!
I've made some other decisions about my line of work and am hoping for good news next week. All in all things are looking up!
Thanks for reading.

FFC

FarawayFromCars,
*************************************

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

Hi faraaway! Nice to see you again! I was trying to remember the other day which member had the great tag line:
"When the Japanese mend broken objects, they aggrandize the damage by filling the cracks with gold. They believe that when something's suffered damage and has a history it becomes more beautiful".
It is you!
Thanks for the update and the insight into your progress....your recovery is shining!
Peace-
B
