When life gives you lemons, make lemonade

Even though every aspect of an alcoholic's life is effected by their addiction, perhaps the first thing effected is the alcoholic's finances. As the alcoholic becomes more dependent upon the alcohol a part of their brain begins to crave or “need” the alcohol to make them feel good or normal. Without the alcohol the person has headaches and mood swings. At this point the alcoholic will do anything to get the alcohol their body so craves, including spending money they know thy shouldn't. Soon bills go unpaid and credit scores fall. Unfortunately for the alcoholic this is only the beginning of financial ruin.

I have read many posts here on SR of codependents stating they were short on money. I call this "lemons". My Momma always taught me “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” Everyone’s heard it at one point in their life...... It seems to be one of those quotes that just has entered public consciousness and is pervasive. Strangely enough though, the origin of the famous saying hasn’t been lost yet. Dale Carnegie was the man who coined the phrase though he’s mostly known for writing the famous book “How to Win Friends and Influence People.”

When life gives you lemons suck out all of the vitamin C and yell “EAT THAT, LIFE!
When life gives you lemons, make orange juice, then wonder how the heck you did it.

When life gives you lemons alter their DNA and make super lemons!!!

When life gives you lemons just shut up and eat your damn lemons!

When life gives you lemons sell them on ebay.

Undoubtedly, a consciousness for the environment has led to many inventions, energy saving technologies, utilization of alternate sources of energy, but what about the waste that is already present in our surroundings, such as empty beer bottles, cans or liquor bottles? Well, "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade". If you have a creative mind you can learn how to recycle empty beer bottles, cans or liquor bottles to end up in resaleable products.

Do an internet search to find the instructions on how to make model travel vechicles, jewelry, home decorations, hanging planters, terrariums, bowls, and candle holders.

I will post a few of the products you can make to sell. Save up your money and head out of dodge......if that is in your best interest!

I hestitated to post this thread. Part of me tells me it could be helpful; part of me tells me it's not appropriate!

Take what you like and leave the rest!

When you take a close look at a beer can, you may notice that they have a really nice arc to them. Artist Paul Villinski has taken that same arc and turned it into butterflies in flight. Rescuing crushed beer cans from the streets of New York City, Williams carefully cuts each can and creates a marvelous fluttering array. He states that similar to the life of a butterfly, his process is representative of a cultural conversion all its own exploring “themes of transformation and recovery through metamorphosis.”
