I made it

Almost 12 years ago, I quit smoking. I was smoke free for almost 3 when I decided to go into business for myself. I'm a costumer. That first halloween season sent me right back to the tobacco and I've had a million excuses to keep smoking ever since. (Dino was one of them... LOL.) I quit on July 27. I figured that if I could make it through Halloween without smoking, I could make it through anything. Ta daaaaaaaaa! Pshew!

Way to go Smoke...you have me thinking!

It would be ever so appropriate to go "cold turkey" over the Thanksgiving season...

Congratulations Smoke!

As a smoker, I know what you have done is no easy task. And you are an inspiration to the rest of us (like me) who think we "just can't do it". I am flat out sickened by the amount of money I am spending on cigarettes. That, along with all the standard reasons, may push me over the "smoke free" cliff soon.
I am very proud of you my friend. I'm glad that you made it through your toughest hurdle to date.
Peace,
Gabe
P.S. I am giggling madly at the Dinotar. It's the day after Halloween and he has already sat down to his Thanksgiving turkey. His love of the festive side of life always puts a smile on my face.

Hi Gabe.

He had trouble deciding whether to be a pilgrim or an indian. But he wanted me to ask you especially if you will let him share his Thanksgiving Dinner with you. But I have to warn you... everything he cooks tastes like pixels.

Hugs!

I would happily share a meal

with that cute little Diontar. But I'm making the pie. I prefer pumpkin pie to pixel pie any day (pumpkin/cheesecake pie to be exact...recipe forthcoming for anyone who wants it, it's killer).
I imagine a Samari version of the Dinotar would be great for carving the turkey. Hai-ya!!
Peace,
Gabe

Now Gabe... let's not give him any more ideas. Last nite I had to draw him a toothbrush because Juls said he needed to brush his teeth. He's still pouting because I haven't drawn him a space suit in honor of the solar flares. I already told him he could be an indian closer to Thanksgiving. Can't he just cut the turkey with his tomahawk? You aren't needing tidy slices for sandwiches, are you? He said you could have his Halloween jack-o-lantern to make the pie, but I told him that amounted to pixel pie. Now he has taken some aspirin and gone to listen to Brahms. Sometimes I am just too much for his delicate sensibilities. He takes after big Dino that way.

Horray Smoke!!

I'd like to jump on that band wagon of non-smoking. I ran out of smokes this morning and went to get some and could only bring myself to buy a pack. Something keeps holding me back from buying myself cartons. I kind of like JT's "cold turkey" around "turkey day".

Many hugs,
Debbie

You da bomb, Smoke. As a smoker myself, I too know that what you've done is a huge accomplishment. I also have been giving a lot of thought to quitting myself lately as it really is long past time. I'll probably be looking to you for pointers some day in the future.

Congrats again, Smoke - you are awesome!

I too, bow to you Smoke!!! I am a closet smoker. My husband hates it so I never smoke when he is around or at home, but when I am out or he is working out of town, I'm aftraid I start puffing. You'd think it would be easy for me to quit.....NOT!!!!

But I am seriously thinking about it, and you inspire me.

Hugs

Okay Smoke

I have a raging case of the giggles thinking about the Dinotar laying under his Dinocomforter listening to Brahms. Tell him I will come and read him a bedtime story soon, then sing him lullabyes until he drifts off to sleep. Does he like the dark and creepy Grimm's fairy tale kind of bedtime stories? Or does he prefer lighter fare, like "Goodnight Moon"?
Rock-a-bye Dinotar
In the tree top
When the wind blows
The Dinotar's cool race-car-type bed will rock
When his bed rocks
The Dinotar will sleep
So sleep little Dinotar
Don't make a peep
Sssssh,
Gabe

LOL Gabe. Travel is very easy when you're an avatar. Dinotar says he's getting back in the computer now and will get out at your house. (Sometime's he goes to Steph's... I understand the cookie fare there is outstanding.) He has moods... but generally likes adrenalin stories.... and pumpkin cheesecake. I packed him a thermos of cocoa.

Charms caramel apple pops. Caramel on the outside, green apple on the inside. Don't bite. Your teeth will stick together.

Fillings come out on those green apple suckers too, I have taken my son to the dentist twice because of those things...

The best suckers are the home made ones. Black licorice flavor. And tootsie pops, any flavor.
