Need help. Meeting w/ alcoholic friend

Hi. I'm brand new & need some advice. I received a call from a friend that I haven't heard from in about a year. He has been struggling with alcohol problems. He seemed really strung out so I invited him to come over tonite & talk. Any thoughts regarding attitude & position I should take with him would be helpful.
I've known him for about 15 yrs. He's single & age 52. He has tried recovery preograms before & told me he is moving into a "clean & sober house" in 3 days. Thanks.

I guess the best advice

I can give is to listen to what he has to say and to respond to him honestly. I hope everything goes well. He is lucky to have a friend who cares about him.
Peace,
Gabe

I would say to listen well, and don't sugar coat your responses. Often times people tip toe around the alchoholic when in reality they need some honesty...

Good luck!
