Lighting a Candle for NZ miners.
Lighting a Candle for NZ miners.
Friends on FB here in Central Queensland, are lighting a candle at 9pm our time, in memory of the 29 New Zealand coal miners who died during a horrific explosion underground before any safe rescue could occur. We also are praying for their families, friends and fellow miners who are in shock and total grief at this big loss. One was only 17, and on his first day on shift.
Where I live, there are a number of coal mines, some open cut and others underground, so we are well aware of the dangers involved for the men and women who work in them. My son in law went to these mines for years, til an accident stopped him doing so....to my daughter's great relief.
May they rest in Peace, and may those mourning them receive comfort and consolation from the love and sympathy that goes to them from us all.
I know you will hold them in your hearts, as I know how big SR hearts are.

So very sorry for these men, and their families. absolutely heartwrenching situation.
my thoughts are with them. God be with them, and God rest the brave men who lost their lives.
I heard a bit on bbc about this last evening. very tragic indeed.

Prayers to the miners & their families in NZ.
My paternal grandfather & many of my uncles/cousins were/are coalminers here in the US (Appalachia). Alcoholism & addiction run deeply in my family, as deep as the mines many have given their lives to. . .
