My first Al Anon meeting
 

Hi all!

I just wanted to report that I went to my first Alanon meeting today. Well, it's not technically my first- if you read my first post you'll see that I do have past experience with Alanon.

Anyway- I'm so glad I went. I was really nervous, but I knew that all I had to do was get in the car and drove there, got out of the car, walk into the building and sit down- the rest would take care of itself.

The group was really nice and definitely made me feel welcome. I talked to a fellow alanon'er about being my sponsor- she accepted, but will be out of town for the next week or two. So, she suggested that I come back next week and start reading the literature (One Day at a Time).

Thank you all for encouraging me to go to the meeting.

Good for you, Craven. Meetings saved my life and gave me back my sanity (well most of it, lol)

I know for certain that I would not be in the good place I am in today if I had not gone to meetings and learned to work the steps.
