Election Day Tell-Tale Sign of Narcissism I thought this was funny-- AH and I went to the polls to vote. He asked me who I voted for for Congress and I told him. He responded: "Are you kidding me?? You voted for ___?" When I said yes, his response was "Boy, that bugs me. You know I like [the opposing candidate] You'd think that if you loved me, you would have voted for him!" Wow. That's a good one. Reminds me of my great-aunt who was married when women got the vote, and still, she felt it was her womanly duty to vote for the same person her husband did--BUT that was a century ago--I guess AH hasn't realized we've come a long way, baby. Just a tell-tale sign that everything is all about him, as usual. |
lol Well...if he loved YOU then why didn't he vote for your choice?? This made me laugh. lol |
Perfect opportunity to reply, "you'd think that if you loved me, you would give up drinking." |
My husband and I often vote for different candidates......we laugh about it and wonder why we voted at all since we were just cancelling out each others vote. It's been a running joke for 25 years. gentle hugs |
On another site, I saw a woman ask whether it was a bad idea to roll in her Alzheimer-afflicted father and tell him how to vote. Her brother had been pressuring her. She wasn't sure, but thought it probably was wrong. |
I tried the if you loved me you would give up drinking line....Needless to say it didn't work. I also got you don't love me because you want me to stop drinking. He found a fellow drinker who loves him enough to drink with him. |
