OT/ feedback please..crazy or good idea?

So, I was thinking about making up a bunch of recipe cards for the local food bank with recipes that use a minimum of staple ingredients.

things that can be made with the foods they give out.

good idea or out there?

Awesome idea! Maybe you can get feedback from those that use the staples and their fave recipes too. Would be awesome to make a lil book and proceeds go to the less fortunate!

I have volunteered at a food bank before, and I think it is a fantastic idea!

well, being bipolar...I always have a need to check myself to see if what I am thinking is on the same page as rational, realistic people. Truth.

I think that is a marvelous idea, dear!

I've had to use our local food bank when things have been extra bad. Recipes would have rocked!

Wonderful idea - our local food pantry has a poster up with a comparison of how much a meal for 4 at a restaurant would be and compare it to the cost of the meal for 4 on the recipe poster.

How about different languanges? Spanish, Polish, etc....? I live in the Chicago burbs so we have a pretty large selection of cultures and languages so multi-lingual posters at the pantry are a necessity....

That is an incredible idea. It made me feel sort of warm and fuzzy inside.

Do you have anyone helping you? Maybe some of the other volunteers could assist. Might be a major task. Or you could just have a few recipes each time. I know I bought a farm share of veges once and they always sent along a couple recipes with the box. It was great! I loved it.

There is no better and I am comin off a mania and the moon (Yes I believe in the full moon fever thing) But just the simple fact that you are wanting to reach out and give is soo cool. I love to cook and I know a lot of people here have went through rough times and have recipes as well for those basic staples.

Not at all, don't be so self-critical. Its a fantastic idea Live. You know we have a lot of readers here and not all post.

I looked but didn't comment because I don't really know what your (US) foodbanks are or do. I'm in the UK.

If, as I suspect, they give food donations to people in need then it's a fantastic idea.
