Have a date tonight, sort of
I never thought I'd be going out so soon after uncurling myself from a fetal position only a few months ago, but...what the heck. I'm not ready for a serious relationship and it sounds like he's not either, so I decided to go have dinner, conversation, and hopefully some laughs which I am really looking forward to.
Some mutual friends set us up and we're all having dinner. They say he's a fantastic guy, hilarious, kind, good dad, hard worker...I know this couple well and trust their judgment completely, so...it should be fun. Fun is what I'm starting to have again, and I love it.
It's good to feel this way after life with an addict.

You GO FOR IT, GIRL! Sounds like an ideal situation.
Courage is not something mysterious or unattainable,
It is something that you can exercise in your daily life choices,
You can let it bring to you untraveled paths,
And make you more conscious and aware of your life.

Thanks, well wishers!
I had a lot of fun! It was so great to sit in a restaurant and have easy conversation, great food, and to laugh like that. And I made a new friend. He was exactly as my friends described him, so it was all good. I'm glad I went.
Got to sleep in today too, but now I've got a research paper to finish writing, due at midnight. I'd much rather be cooking and baking and watching football...it's a cool fall day here in the Rocky Mountains. Love this time of year.
I'm feeling very thankful today. For a lot of things.
There is an after-life! Life after the addict! It feels so good to have me back again.

I think this is the start of many more beautiful, relaxing, fun times for you.
I recently met a new coworker - a friend of a coworker I like - yesterday she mentioned he had expressed interest.... my impression was that he is good looking, intellectual and seems a nice person. She says he opens the doors for her... and I thought
"Perhaps I am not insane, I am just missing good examples of men"
I hope you like this song, to me its like "welcome to life again!!!!!"

TC...thanks, girl!
The song is great -- makes me wanna dance.
And you are right...
There are all kinds of great ones out there. We just need to get our pickers fixed to spot them, appreciate them, and keep them around. Hmmm...picker-fixers. Maybe we could add PF to the SR code for picker-fixer. I'm rambling now.
