I'm glad you're here. Let me be selfish and say...don't go anywhere...you give a whole lot more than you ask for around here!

Amen to everyone else. Remember the road you traveled to get where you are and weigh it in the balance against one sad, sappy e-mail. Then be at peace.

Noday.......Don't you dare even think of leaving us. Where would we look for inspiration?
Where can you get the love and support you do here?

Here's the biggest hug I can find, sent with lotsa love.

It's the same request: he wants to see his DD. He'll do anything, he'll change his schedule, he just wants to see his daughter.
Anything? Any mention of getting sober?

Hugs! It sounds like you have done all the right things....hang in there!

It goes ok today. Thanks for asking Got my brand spankin new tango shoes, custom made in Argentina, and had myself a private lesson yesterday, so I'm a happy camper.

XAH has started texting me again, which he hasn't done in a long time. His text was confusing, but then again he never did have great grammar, and he may have been drinking...

"I heard from the lawyer. He said that the judge refused the case, so now I have to go to court just to prove I deserve one".

I honestly have no clue why he sent this, or what it means...perhaps he tried to appeal the judgment but was denied, or perhaps he tried to obtain legal aid and was denied...or perhaps he was making stuff up to try to threaten me indirectly...I honestly don't know.

In any case, my parents and I have made a pact to discuss how we feel whenever we receive something from XAH, so that we aren't tiptoeing around each other, wondering what the other people are feeling, bottling things up and worrying for one another needlessly. After talking it through, it turns out we're all on the same page about XAH, and my parents support my decision to keep XAH away from DD 100%. It's so nice to have their support because it is a rather "lonely" decision to make.

We also discussed my mother's sister, who XAH has involved in all this by including her in his email sendouts...she's such a codie, it's not even funny; she kept my mother on the phone for hours awfulizing about XAH and the fact that we HAD TO DO *SOMETHING*. Anyhow, my boundaries are firmly in place and I refuse to discuss this with her because she's so negative; as for my mother and her inability to shut her own sister down...well, she can figure out how to enforce her own boundaries herself.

I would miss you very, very, very much if you went away

As for all that other BS (!) it's really quite simple: ACTION, not words.

Would LOVE to go to Bueno Aires to study tango intensively...but alas, with a 2 year old child, it's not easy (and I would need XAH's signature to take her out of the country and he's not likely to be very cooperative in that respect considering our current situation...).

I wonder why you can't see the pic. I'll fix the link when I'm home

OMG!!! Healthy family behavior!!!!
Thank God you are still here. Don't go anywhere!
I needed to read this little snippet today.

Mature handling of awkward uncomfortable painful stuff. Look at that, it can be done people. It can be done. And we need these examples - that when I read it, it sounds so obvious - but it is amazing if I am all caught up in the frenzied codie patterns of thought I will not even think of rational calm mature solutions!

Peace & (((((hugs)))))

those are really pretty!!!! They flash while you dance and the feet are such a part of the tango...I can see them pointed as you dip and reflecting the light shinily.

and I am scheming...don't rule out Argentina yet!!!!

DD could be very privileged to be multi-cultured.
