What came to my mind is nothing changes, if nothing changes. It sounds like you are going forward with this decision now. I hope you continue that path and it brings you a freedom and serenity to have your own space and not have to deal with the isms that come from living with an alcoholic. I did the same exact thing one year ago last Sept. with my two kids, and it was really scary, and sad and scary again but also once I mourned the ending of the idea of the relationship I kept waiting to have but never really got, the feeling of moving on with my life was so liberating and freeing. My own place, out from under the giant ogre. It was one of the most gratifying experiences of my life. I did it and I did it without him. It was good to see "me" again.
So I was thinking, if you do try this and it doesn't work out for you, you can always go back to him, right?
Peace,
Jen
