Gratitude

The nights are drawing in here, its getting darker and I have to go back to work tomorrow after a week of lazing around the house and digging in the garden...sigh.

Time for a reminder of what I am grateful for:

I am grateful for my freedom and being on my own;
I am grateful for my mum, who is my rock;
I am grateful for my friends;
I am grateful for SR and all the people here who share;
I am grateful that I have a job (even though tomorrow fills me with anxiety...really need to work on living in the moment);
I am grateful for the affection and antics of my 4 cats - they have become so much more affectionate, playful and friendly since we moved to our place;
I am grateful for the roof over my head;
I am grateful for the abundance of veg I have grown this year and the fun I have been having in my garden.

Wow. I started this list feeling so blue and have managed to put a smile on my own face tonight!!

So, what are you all grateful for?

I am grateful that out of the 27 pumpkin seeds my son planted, that all germinated, we have 2 teeny-tiny actual pumpkins that I will be able to carve with tiny scalpels!
I am grateful for soup, and broth and hot-pot weather
I am grateful for the japanese maples in the park outside my office that burn a million shades of red against a grey sky
I am grateful for my peaceful home, my calm, restful bed, my clean toilet (!)
I am grateful for my job, I am grateful that I don't yet know whether we will be cut from the budget, because there's no sense in worrying and when that information comes through, I am planning on being grateful for whatever the information is so that I can act on it.
I am so grateful for my wonderful children.
I am grateful to all the people who come here and share their lives, ups, downs, pain, anger, wisdom, frustration, peace, alternative viewpoints, humour, love.
I am grateful for bookwyrm, who is lovely, for starting this thread.

there's no stopping once you get going with this stuff - I could go on for pages

I am grateful to you Bookwyrm for starting this thread!

I am grateful for the universe, the earth, the air, the water.
I am grateful this big old world keeps turning round to morning and a new day every day.
I am grateful I have had people to love in my life through joy and sorrow, and grateful for their love for me.
I am grateful I found AlAnon and we hit it off, so that I did not turn into my mother.

I am grateful for my sons, for their physical and mental health, and for how much they expand my capacity to love, and for how much they teach me.
I am grateful for my boyfriend and for the strength of our relationship and all the fun we have.
I am grateful for my two kitties who rush up to greet me as soon as I come home on a dreary, rainy, foggy night.

I am grateful for tea, and books, libraries, movies, and chocolate!
I am grateful for SR where I learn something every day and where I have found so much light when I am feeling heavy.

I am grateful I only have this last year of nursing school till I graduate.
I am grateful that nursing school has been so challenging and so damn hard that I will feel like a million bucks when I pass my licensing exam!
I am grateful to all my professors and my patients who have taught me so much.

I am grateful for my freedom of choice and for recognizing I have it.

peace-
B

I am grateful to the Universe, which in it's own perfect way brought me here to SR;
I am grateful for my health;
I am grateful for the gift of time with friends, for my children and the time with them;
I am grateful for my healing, for the contentedness in being "alone but not lonely",
I am grateful for the gift of loving myself even when I make mistakes--I don't have to be perfect! I am so grateful for that.

So many things to be grateful for, too many to name...

Thank you, my friends~
