How do they work? Has anyone tried them, and what did you think of them?

We used to do some online Al Anon meetings here in the chat room. They were structured just like a regular meeting with an introduction, read the12 steps and 12 traditions and then there is a topic that the chairperson puts out. People comment on the topic, sharing their own particular experience, strength and hope. There is no advice given, no cross talking - just sharing. At the end we read the closing and said the Lord's Prayer or the Serenity Prayer. They were some pretty good meetings
