FB has an option to block specific people. Lots of advantages to that, and a feature I've used before.

Hey Seeker,

I too went to the AA meetings with my XA, but it really didn't teach me anything, the things that I learned about alcoholism, I learned here and at Al Anon.

Facebook does have the option of blocking anyone. To date I have blocked her, her new victim, her son (which I did not like, but did anyway) and one of her codependent friends. There is absolutely no way she can see what is happening in my life and no way I can see what is happening in hers.

I would further add to block her phone number, her texts, and send her email to the spam box.

She is not ready to stop, but it sounds like to me you want too.

I am in a business that requires me to help others, often people who can't see their way out of the present situation. I am the ultimate do gooder!

I came to the realization that I am codependent, and for the first time in my life, I can look back and see what this has done to me.

My XA has tried to get ahold of me on a number of occassions since she left. I have stood my ground and told her I wish no further contact with her. It's called no contact (NC) and I would recommend you give it a shot.

Thanks.

It sounds like you don't have a long time vested in your A, and if she is working at a bar as a bartender, well I think the writing is on the wall, huh?

I have never had a drink at the bar called sobriety.
