I'm hoping the whole family can get out of dodge for the weekend.

We got some bad news that the AW career position may be eliminated so financial hardship is in our future. I'm rather worried that this may trigger her back to the booze. As if life wasn't hard enough, another blob of **** is thrown on me.

STBXAW is out of rehab and has been spending some (supervised) time with our kids. So far so good. Weather is supposed to be really nice so I think we will take the kids to the park tomorrow and enjoy the fresh air. Keeping my fingers crossed there is no drama. So far we are focusing on just the kids when we are around them.

The **** didnt even have time to hit the fan!

I try to stay in today, and I have to practice that shellcrusher.
sometimes, I have to just bring myself back to this moment.

Have a great Friday, and a good weekend.

I am having dinner with an old friend who is pregnant with twins which is awesome because she had the hardest time getting pregnant to begin with.

Spending the rest of the weekend with my love hopefully relaxing, dinner, movies, whatever comes our way. I love free weekends (my kids are with their dads). I have them for almost 2 weeks straight and then I get a small much needed break.

Whatever you do, make the most of it. Enjoy everyone!

Peace,
Jen

I understand what you're staying, Wicked. Try to live in the present. I just don't want to be a frog in a slowly warming pot of water.

I do understand that. I was the frog and the boiling water at different times.
Both positions suck, the frog dies and the water is lonely.

what can you do about this right now?
this weekend?
I am not trying to be a smartass, this is what I have to ask myself.

TGIF.. usually I have therapy but I am too broke for it for now.

My therapist told me I could have the session and pay later.

I said thank you.. but no. I do not like debts. I already have debts. I will be broke for a while.

Imagine!! saying NO to my therapist

That is my gift, to remember I do not owe anything to anyone and that I need to be intelligent with my $$ ... and I don't need to apologize.

In a more fun token, I love to watch cooking shows in Fox life, and decided to cook for a couple of friends on Saturday. Also I will try to do yoga. And read my books. And take deep breaths.

I've done several things already/right now. Budget review for both the home as well as with my planner. Email was sent to my financial planner for assistance.
This weekend will require me and the wife to talk about our options. I guess more importantly, my folks get to see their grandson, which is kinda rare. We get some fresh air. I'll probably smoke a cigar or 5.

Smoking cigars in the fresh air = counterproductive?

Nope, as a matter of fact, I would recommend it.

Enjoy!

Your folks get to see their grandson!
Have fun with that too.

It seems as if you have done everything you can up to this point.

The only thing left is ......... worry.

I've got a good 5 inches of new snow today. I hope to get some cross-country skiing in this weekend in between homework and errands. It should be nice out on the trails with the new fresh snow!

I have an appointment with the bank to go over my mortgage paperwork - I qualified for a mortgage on my own last week - we're meeting this afternoon. I am scared to death and I don't know why, but onward and upward. Action before motivation and motivation will follow...

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

I went to the city to provide moral support for a friend this morning.
We went to lunch, I met her brother, and we had a nice day wandering the streets in the lovely weather.

This was the perfect day to take off work, nicest day in a long time. <3

Now I'm relaxing at home. At some point I might even organize the other bedroom dresser.

Another week, another Friday.
It should be a good day/weekend. Again, we're trying to make it to my parents house but now there's a 2 foot snow threat looming.

Happy Friday, everyone.

Everyone here is sick or on the verge of getting sick. There is a boy scout hike planned on Sat if that boy stays standing, and a basketball tourney on Sunday if the other is better by then.

Other then that my only plan is to watch netflix till our eyes burn

Today after work I am going to have a nice, relaxing evening at home. Maybe I'll watch a movie.
I also intend to clean out the bedroom walk-in closet at some point, and start going through the bookshelf in the den. It is spring cleaning time.

Saturday, I am taking the kitten to the vet, then going to a friend's house for the afternoon.

Sunday, I might be going on a date. He was brave enough to ask me, but hasn't been brave enough to figure out when or where yet. Considering I am used to someone telling me what I had to do, and making all the plans a full year in advance, and being so controlling I wasn't allowed to breathe without permission, it actually feels good to not know right now. It is good for me, as long as it doesn't continue indefinitely. Right now, I am in no rush whatsoever.

DS is home this whole weekend! And it's Fur Rendezvous in Anchorage. And I got my tax return, so I have money to spend on rides and games at Rondy. So, plans for this weekend include, getting an appointment to trim up DS's hair, possibly mine as well. And then cotton candy, games, may be some dog sled rides, carnival rides, cold faces and hot cocoa, watching the snow boarding competition (which DS is so excited about), then the fireworks.

I found out this morning I have been designated a five way split of the annual; Liberal Studies Scholarship award!

It'll wind up being about three hunner bucks -
good for a couple of books and a tank of gas!

Brrrr, Barb. I'd be hanging at home then too. It's about 35 today, so it's really warm. I think tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 20's. Still really warm for Rondy time in Anchorage - it's usually below zero. Rondy, with enough spending money for candy and a few rides! It's gonna be fun!

Rondy! I forgot its Fur Rondy and I have a directors retreat all weekend, shoot!

But I should have figured its Rondy time because of the crappy weather. If it follows pattern, it should snow, then get really cold, warm up again, snow some more, and get cold again just as the festivities are wrapping up.

After many, many years of Rondy activities, I may just hit the carnival long enough for some unhealthy fair food - gosh I just love funnel cakes with a hot cup of coffee! But I would like to catch the start of the Iditarod.

However, this weekend is booked with retreats, homework, and a massive pile of backed up laundry. Plus, I need some sleep!
