What's the difference?

Is there a difference between the behaviors of an addict and a codie? The more I read, the more I see that some of my behaviors mirror the behaviors of an addict, especially at the end of the relationship.

Taking responsibility for my own health and sanity is the biggest resemblance to that of my STBXAH . As he struggles to do that - I also struggle with that.
I also blamed his disease for my failures - as he blamed me!

Both addicts and codies get obsessed, that is the main similarity that immediately comes to mind.codies focus on the person, while addicts obsess on their DOC. One is as sick as the other. In other ways they are complete opposites. Try reading Codependant no more by Mealnie Beatie..great book!
