Devon,

I am so sorry about your cat. People can be jerks and there are some real crazies out there. I hope they find whoever did that, throw them in jail and then publicly humilate them by putting it on the news, so everyone can see who they are and know what they did.

Oh Freedom I am so sorry. Poor Scout. My heart hurts for you and her. I am happy she made it home so she was with the ones she loved when she died.

Oh Freedom, I am so sorry. I'm glad she made it home and wasn't laying out there somewhere unnoticed. I'm glad she was surrounded with love.

I'm so sorry. How horrible. The contrast of people like you who give so much love to animals and people like the monster who did that...is just astounding.

It's bad enough to lose a beloved pet, but to have them taken violently from you is too much to bear. My sympathy to you and your furry family.

(((DeVon))) you have been through so much with your furbabies lately. I don't understand how anyone could be so cruel as to shoot a cat. Thinking of you...

Thanks to all of you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words.

Amber has put up a reward for any information leading to the arrest of whoever did this. My brother called from CT this morning after he found out, and he's matching the reward money.

I don't have high hopes of catching whoever did this. Living in a small agricultural town, I am painfully aware of the attitudes about cats from many, including farmers.

The sad thing is I live in town, not in the country.

I've been in the same house since 95, and have had cats longer than that. I've never had any trouble before.

I don't ever remember feeling seething hatred like I have right now for the heartless person who did this.

I'm glad I have a meeting tonight. I've already called my sponsor.

I just have to walk through the pain to get past it.

(((Freedom))), I am so very sorry. Hurting an animal is inexcusable, and it leaves such broken hearts and anger.

I will hold you and all your little ones in my heart. I too hope that you find out who did this, but somebody else said what I think, whoever did has to live with themselves and what they did forever.

I know you will cherish your memories of your sweet Scout. You gave her a wonderful life, and I know she blessed yours too.

Oh, Von...how awful, and in a small town it seems even worse.
We had a beautiful Burmese and he went missing, found him dead under the side porch a week later...had been poisoned. Broke us all up for ages and had us looking sideways at everyone in our street.

And I don't care what anyone says...I believe pets go to Heaven.
They deserve it for their love and loyalty, and because for so many people, it wouldn't be Heaven without those beloved friends.

God bless

Oh no, Freedom, oh no...I'm so sorry, so sorry that you have to add this loss to the others you've been dealing with lately.

There is something powerful about Scout coming home to let you know. So much love, such connection, to come home to say goodbye. There is gift in that. That right there is a testament to the love and connection you have for your zoo crew.

Hugs, hugs, hugs. Shedding some tears for you and your loss, and lighting a candle for Scout...restful peace to you, sweet kitten.

Hugs, and scratches under the chin. I had a cat poisoned many years ago, it is heartbreaking to lose a pet to human meanness and stupidity. I am very sorry for your loss.

******{Freedom}}}}

My manx & best friend for 91/2 years was caught and eaten by a resident fox
when I moved here to Butte.

And here I'd been worried about eagles.

hard to hold a grudge - when the foxes were here first.

but I almost shot a man's coonhounds - thinking theywere the murderers.

(((DeVon)))

I'm sorry I didn't see this until now, but honestly if I'd seen it yesterday I would have probably cried all night at work

I'm so sorry, sweetie, and I'm terribly angry at whoever did this. I'm also grateful that Scout had a life filled with love and she had her "family" of furbabies in heaven to greet her. Doesn't make it any easier on US, but I'm sure they are having one heck of a romp fest up there! The image of THAT, at least, brings a smile to my face (through the tears).

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

I *do* have to remark on how well you're handling it all.

I was a bleeding mess.

Well done to you for that.

Oh no. I'm so sorry. I don't understand how people can do the things they do to animals. I'm so glad she made it home to you, it would have given her great relief. Love to you.
