Please don't leave me by Pink - to me it puts the whole alcoholic/codependent relationship in perspective and makes me realize how truly crazy it is! It is my perfect "recovery" song, especially when I hear it and think "this is so true, so crazy and soooo unhealthy". In the end where it says "I can't be without, you're my perfect little punching bag", boy that reminds me that even though I was never physically abused by my RAH, I am NOBODY'S punching bag, mentally or physically!

For those that aren't familiar with this song, it was written by a guy lamenting the fact that he was divorced and relegated to the STANDARD "every other weekend" deal with his son.

The part I hi-lighted never fails to well tears up in my eyes.

Lots of times I catch myself feeling sorry for ole Coyote 'cause I'm rearing this kid without any help from her mom.

This song serves to remind me how lucky I am (probably 1 in 100 at least), to be the custodial parent and get to see my kid every day.

Then it dawns on me that if it weren't for alcoholism, I'd be that guy driving back and forth every two weeks.
