Stupid triggers!
I had one last night and one today. I made it through the one last night. Then today happened... and BOOM! What do I do? I text him. UGH. It was a personal thing, about my son (who starts his ill conceived journey across the country with no money tomorrow... dear lord...). I spoke briefly to him, he was not sober and it broke my heart.
I swear, it was like I had an out of body experience, like someone took over my hands and texted XAB. As soon as I hit send... the sound in my head was "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!". I sat there, feeling even worse than before. UGH.
Wait, the insanity gets better, even laughable. A while later, I send a second text telling him to please not respond. That I was supposed to be No Contact.
Oh, man. What a mess. He's three hours ahead of me and is going to wake up to these messages. When I imagine the look on his face... I have to laugh!
I must learn to control these knee jerk reactions...

And so say all of us. Ok just put that little blip aside, and start walking along the NC path.
Remember you are going for progress, not perfection or sainthood.
It will get easier, with fewer blibs or cravings for contact along the way.
God bless
