I look back at my mother, and my aunt now, and they scream codependency.
JenT - I relate to much of what you wrote. I do like to be in control but I think another reason I prefer to be alone is the whole emotional intimacy and relationship thing is completely overwhelming and exhausting for me and it is easier to avoid. I'm not sure that is good for long term happiness though.
