Whirlwind 4 days
Thank all for your thoughts and some funnies thru an "interesting time".
I think medals should go to those wonderful electric company emergency crews and the SES volunteers, who in horrible weather conditions and amid high danger, worked day and night to replace wires, poles etc, removes trees, and cover homes without roofs.
One old fellow is in his late 70's, been in the SES for 30 years, and every emergency he will be out there working his butt off FOR NO PAY, simply for the privilege of serving his community. These are the heroes in my book.
Some folk won't have power for a few more days yet, and my heart goes out to them. I didn't give much thought to how much electricity means in making my life easy and comfortable, but by heck, I sure appreciate it now.
Guess I can be that way with people too, not appreciating what they mean to me, or telling them I care, and then it is too late...they are gone forever and I am left with regret for my silence. Just sent texts to my girls telling them I love them.....they will now wonder what the heck is up with me.
Am ready to call my insurance co, and put in the clain by phone, then off to replace some lost tucker.
Thanks again for all your care, and I saw a snap online of a friend's young son, which I think is a ripper.
God bless
