What if you removed the "recovering alcoholic" aspect from your post. It seems to me that what you have here is someone who is "just not that into you" as the book says.


You cook and clean for him - at his house.
He has snubbed your family.
He is not in love with you (but does "love" you - whatever that means)
Something is missing...

Will you consider ths question?
What do you want for you?
This situation sounds really good for him, but not so rewarding for you.

And some advice:
If the relationship is a rollercoaster 8 months into it, you might want to reconsider it.
