My A FIL took his own life back in March via a bottle of sleeping pills and a pint of whiskey. My AH got drunk the morning of the funeral and passed out before time to go. Put one foot in front of the other and breath deep. You did the right thing for yourself and your daughter. Your AH is now at peace. Many, many prayers for you and your daughter. It will be a tough day but God as you know him is walking by your side.
*prayers that you are gifted an island
of comfort, guidance, acceptance, and peace
in this raging sea of loss, blame, pain and guilt*

Deb -
(my own name, that feels wierd to type)
This is 'hurtin' time for everyone involved.
There's gonna be stuff thrown this way and that
as everyone tries to relieve themselves
of their own guilt.
And that's the bottom line, isn't it?
You didn't any more 'do' anything to cause this
that you did to make this person drink in the first place.
The mental illness resulting from alcoholism did this.
Animals strike out in their fear and pain.
Humans... reach out.
Congratulations, sister -
you're a human.
