well worth a second read. i'm glad this got bumped back up. gee, what a great place this is...changing the world one codie at a time...if i think back to what i've seen go down in this place...suicides, deaths, heartache, rising up of the phoenix...sr is a place that we can come to when perhaps no one in our physical circles quite understands...

I was moved to tears when I read this. You posted a month before I joined SR. Little did I know how important you and this forum would become to me in the days and months ahead. Your words to me the day I broke up with my exA were powerful and I read your message more than once. There are many "life preservers" here, and your words have definitely been a "life preserver" to me when I felt like I was drowning.

This could not have been better said: "...I learned I'm part of a big community of Life. There's something I'm supposed to do while I'm alive, and it's not picking up the pieces of an alcoholic."
