Said he was slurring because he burned his tongue on bacon
Ya, so last night my bf called me and sounded like he'd been drinking. After about 15 minutes into the conversation, when I finally go over the shock of him drinking, I asked him how much he'd had to drink. He insisted that he wasn't drinking. I asked him why he was slurring. He said he burned his tongue on hot bacon. This was at about 11:30 PM.
He spent a lot of time trying to convince me that he wasn't drinking. When he said noon instead of midnight, I said, "noon?" "Noon?" He thought a minute then got snappy, "Ya, noon! That's my nickname for it! If it's midnight, I say noon!"
I think he's been drinking all along and lying to me about it. I don't believe anything he says anymore. Bacon...

I'm sorry to laugh, but that is a new one to me.
My xabf lied so much I would tell my friends that if xabf came and told me the sky was blue I would have to go outside myself and check. Lol!
Sorry you are going through this. Hang in there : )

Oh, laugh away. Even though I'm bummed, I laughed too. BACON??? You're right, it's hard not to second guess. His "nickname" for midnight helped ease my doubts though. Also statements like, "nothing came to head" instead of "nothing came to mind" and "Right out of the bat" instead of "right off the bat" helped a bit too. He was drinking. I was surprised that he was able to make himself sound sober when he concentrated though.
You don't think he has been drinking..you know it, his words and actions show it.
If someone has to make themselves sound sober in order for me to have a conversation with them...then, I chose not to have the conversation until they are sober...

LOL, noon is his nickname for midnight wow, that's some quick thinking!
I'm sorry.
btw you wrote, "my bf", I thought you had broken up with him, is that just a slip of the pen or are you back together/still thinking of him in those terms?

I should also mention that after he'd had time to think about it...about 3 hours, he texted me that he'd also had his teeth cleaned. Which I'm guessing causes a lot of slurring. He had his teeth cleaned 4 or 5 days ago.
The only conceivable way I could see burining my tongue with bacon is if I'd been drinking (a lot). Never happened and hope it never will. Call em on it and be done with it! Good luck!

Hungh? At least he hasn't let his oral hygeine slip (yet).
